Music Clouds are becoming the place to be this year as Google, Amazon, Apple and now Best Buy have all created cloud services to support the idea of putting your music in the cloud and then listening to it from anywhere. Best Buy has launched their Music Cloud and it is another service out in the cloud which provides more choices to the market. Since it is in the mix with other services, it makes one wonder what makes this one from Best Buy for their Music Cloud a better service than others that are already out there.
Reviews not kind to Best Buy for the Music Cloud
There are many who are looking at the services being offered and with that, it looks like the opinion of some is that the Music Cloud from Best Buy still has some work that needs to be done to it so that it is a much better service. PC Magazine is one of a number of reviews about the service that do not talk about it as favorably as you might expect. The Music Cloud service has not been officially launched, but you can go out to the Music Cloud from Best Buy and sign up for an account. At the moment, there is no pressing reason to do that as a number of key items are not working as it should.
The free service appears to play 30 seconds of a song and then move on to the next song. At the moment, that includes any music that you have uploaded to the Music Cloud. That is not good and would indicate that you will have to pay the $3.99 per month for the Pro service to listen to your own songs in full. Why you would want to pay to listen to your own songs? This does not make a lot of sense and hopefully that can get it correct, if it is a bug. If that is the intent of the Music Cloud, it will have a short life.
In the sign up process, there is no way to get credit card information into the Music Could to use the Pro service, so that is another item that is going to need to be fixed. For the Music Cloud to be successful, Best Buy needs to show that they are better than the competition and at the moment, they are not meeting that goal.
